Hi Gracie,
I just wanted to say that I love you and miss you. You are an amazing person, serving an amazing God.
I loved this entry. It made me smile and get tears in my eyes because it reminded me that God's not limited. Your life is not boxed! Christmas in Latin America as a missionary...you are open and hospitable, and you experience Peru's hospitality from that place of welcoming life and Jesus.

I needed to be reminded of these things this morning. I just learned about nephesh at a community organizing training with PICO last week, and I was relieved to know of it. It's a concept that captures what I've been experiencing and observing as God heals my own broken, dichotomistic worldview. What a relief to know it is reality.

I especially liked this:

"I’m sure that Jesus, ever present with the people, would have had something profound to say to the man on the street with no eyeballs. Then again, maybe he would have just said “buenas tardes,” knowing that a simple greeting can be full of meaning when we recognize the spirituality of every breath that God has given us since the moment he created us, breathed on us, and we became nephesh."

Thankful for his ministry of presence,

This is important for us to grasp, and we must grasp it with our being - not only in our minds - as you note. Thanks for being a part of "relieving the painpoint." You express your thoughts with such sensitivity and personal transparency. I'm drawn in, Gracie. Keep writing to us as you are led.
